Predictive NIRS signal in neurodevelopment
The aim of the project will be to investigate development of NIRS (Near Infrared Spectroscopy) signals in a large dataset of more than 1000 recordings. This project is part of a larger project involving a pan Canadian scientific network specialized on EEG/NIRS and infant cognitive development. This large dataset neuroimaging project includes longitudinal and transversal data from infants, children, with or without different risks factors for neurodevelopmental disorders (epilepsy, congenital heart diseases, learning disabilities, intellectual disability, autism). The applicant will be supervised by Anne Gallagher (Department of psychology, CHU Sainte-Justine), jointly with Karim Jerbi (Department of psychology and Department of computer sciences) and Sarah Lippé (Department of psychology, CHU Sainte-Justine).
The Research Center of the CHU Ste-Justine Hospital (the largest mother-child hospital in Canada) is affiliated with several Departments of Université de Montréal including the Psychology, Neuroscience and Psychiatry Departments, MILA, Computer science, and Ecole Polytechnique, providing resources in imaging, engineering, and genetics platforms for humans and animals. Our environment offers a rich venue for training in state-of-the-art developmental neuroscience and opportunities for enrichment.
• Applicants should be highly motivated to successfully pursue graduate studies (Ph.D) in
biomedical sciences, psychology, cognitive neurosciences or bioinformatics.
• Complementary training in any field leading to good knowledge of EEE/NIRS signal processing,
machine learning as well as python, R or Matlab.
• Experience in neuroimaging research, database management and knowledge of French are
Salary and duration :
• Competitive salary.
• Position is available immediately, the starting date is flexible, but no later than September 2019.
• The duration will be a minimum of 2 years.
