We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to coordinate a large 4-year project funded by the CIHR. The project topic is related to investigating the effects of long COVID on the autonomic nervous system using high-field (7 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging – MRI) and physiological monitoring. The successful applicant will be joining a multidisciplinary team of researchers based at McGill University, led by Dr. Georgios Mitsis (Department of Bioengineering), Dr. Richard Hoge (Department of Neurology) and Dr. Marie-Helene Boudrias (School of Occupational and Physical Therapy). They will have the unique opportunity to access and use the state-of-the-art 7T MR scanner located at the Montreal Neurological Institute, one of the only two such systems currently available in Canada.

The successful applicant will oversee and participate in multimodal data collection (high-field neuroimaging and physiological monitoring, including transcranial Doppler ultrasound), which will take place at the Department of Bioengineering and the Montreal Neurological Institute. They will supervise graduate and undergraduate students working in the project and perform analysis of the collected neuroimaging and physiological data. They will also be responsible for preparation of manuscripts and conference presentations to disseminate the results of the study.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience or a related field. They should have a strong background in biomedical signal processing, as well as previous experience with functional magnetic resonance imaging and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound data collection and analysis. Good knowledge of fMRI software packages (e.g., FSL, SPM or equivalent) is a significant asset. The ideal candidate should also have excellent knowledge of statistics and related software packages (e.g., R, SPSS or equivalent). The ideal candidate should have leadership skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. They should also be able to work independently.
