On September 11, 2023, Québec’s Chief Scientist, Rémi Quirion, announced the three August recipients of the Fonds de recherche du Québec’s Relève étoile competition. Among them was QBIN postdoctoral member Shady Rahayel, who was awarded the Prix Relève étoile Jacques-Genest for his publication entitled Brain atrophy in prodromal synucleinopathy is shaped by structural connectivity and gene expression. As a QBIN member, Shady was also awarded the prize for best poster presentation at the 2017 QBIN Scientific Day, as well as a QBIN Travel for Training Award for the year 2016-2017.
