QBIN is looking for student candidates to sit on the steering committee for a one-year term. The purpose of this call for candidates is to fill two student representative positions as non-voting members.
Created in 2008, the Quebec Bio-Imaging Network (QBIN) aims to promote and facilitate the establishment of fruitful collaborations between researchers from all over Quebec interested in exploring, via bio-imaging techniques, normal functioning and pathological in humans, the effect of pathophysiological processes and therapeutic approaches to various diseases using animal models and innovative methods of image acquisition in vivo or ex vivo single and multimodal, all in order to consolidate the leadership of Quebec researchers on the national and international scenes.
Roles and responsibilities of committee members
The steering committee ensures the fair and transparent operation of the network and has the role of supporting the person who heads the network, particularly with regard to:
- network administration;
- setting up and reviewing network activities to ensure the achievement of the objectives and the strategic action plan;
- approval of budget planning and optimal use of the budget, according to the director’s recommendations, and regular monitoring of expenses related to network activities;
- the choice and evaluation of the axes and common resources and the appointment of their managers after consultation with the members;
- periodic review of the charter.
Frequency of meetings
QBIN’s steering committee generally meets 5-6 times a year.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this seat, the applicant must be a member of the Quebec Bio-Imaging Network. The applicant must be at the doctoral or postdoctoral level of higher education.
Please note: Although the positions are open to all student members of the network, it is necessary that the candidate is sufficiently fluent in French since the meetings are mainly held in this language.
