Congratulations to Prof. Louis Collins for his recent election to Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada! Louis is a Professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital at McGill, and a longtime member of QBIN. In 2022, he gave the William Feindel Lecture at QBIN’s annual Scientific Day.
From the Royal Society of Canada website: Louis Collins is a world authority in computational neuroimaging. He has made significant contributions in the development of innovative software tools to align, segment and analyze medical images. He invented original intraoperative ultrasound techniques to correct for brain shift in image-guided navigation in neurosurgery. He pioneered ground-breaking computational methodologies and mathematical modeling techniques to study the brain’s structure and function using neuroimaging, predominantly in neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative disorders.
